A new term of music workshops, gigs and events starts at More Music on September 23.
The programme includes gigs by acclaimed musicians Chris Wood, contemporary jazz band Get The Blessing and ex Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs.
Chris Wood is an English folk musician and composer who plays fiddle, viola and guitar, and sings. Get the Blessing (previously known as The Blessing) is a jazz rock quartet based in Bristol, England.
Childs was the front man of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, a Welsh alternative rock band, formed in Carmarthen.
Based at the Hothouse on Devonshire Road in Morecambe, More Music is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Over two decades, More Music has delivered music workshops, training, performances and festivals (including the popular Kite Festival) across the district with thousands of people.
There are a wide range of music sessions available for all ages, from the under 5s to teenagers and adults, covering singing, guitar and ukulele playing, DJing, playing chinese instruments and carnival drumming to name a few.
New classes this term include Bay Youth Voices, a new choir for young people singing a repertoire of contemporary pop and rock songs, which takes place at the Hothouse on Tuesdays from 6.30pm.
There will be a Community Open Day on Saturday, September 21 from 1pm until 5pm where free music workshop taster sessions will be held all afternoon at the Hothouse.
