Wrestling champion Joey Hayes faces a monstrous challenge in his first title defence in Morecambe – a man twice his size!

Fan favourite Hayes will square off with the 25-stone Cyanide in the main event of the Sunday, April 13 show at The Globe Arena.

‘The Toxic Terror’ Cyanide is the nost feared super heavyweight on the UK circuit, famed for his ‘big splash’ and uncanny agility for such a behemoth.

Heart-throb Hayes, 13 and a half stone, won the PAID Promotions British Heavyweight championship at the last wrestling event at The Globe with a huge upset over Morecambe’s ‘Psychotic Warrior’ Johnny Phere.

Joey, 28, followed this up by winning the Preston City Wrestling championship last month.

These victories have seen the Mancunian reach the pinnacle of British singles wrestling, 10 years after he first made his debut in Morecambe as one half of The Manchester Massive tag team.

Phere, soon to appear on ITV on Warwick Davis’ travel show ‘Weekend Escapes’, will battle his own brother Triston on April 13 in a no holds barred submission match. The Blackpool Blonds will be in tag team action, Bubblegum will fight Craig Kollins, and Ricky J McKenzie battles Ryan Grayson and Serenity in a two-on-one match.

Doors 4pm, bell time 4.30pm. Tickets available from, from Studio Bronze in Queen Street, or on Saturday, April 12 in the Arndale Centre, where Johnny Phere and the PAID Promotions wrestlers will be meeting fans from noon to 3pm.
