The competition attracted many famous judges who would often dine at The Clarendon Hotel, Morecambe.

Alan Foulds brought menus from the hotel, all signed by the bathing beauties judges. Mr Foulds, 72, used to work at the Clarendon and collected the signed menus through the years.

The signatures on the menus, dating from 1955-1960 include the late comedian Albert Modley, born in Morecambe, singer Alma Cogan. David Whitfield, Pearl Carr, Teddy Johnson, Josef Lock, Louis Benjamin, Norman Evans, Billy Parnell, Charlie Chester (Jeeves), Sir Bernard and Lady Docker, Harry Secombe, Janet Brown, Spike Millegan, Tessa O’Shea, Lupino Lane and Benson Duloy.

Thank you to Mr Foulds for sharing his collection.
