Wrestling makes its debut at the Platform in Morecambe this Saturday (July 13).
London-based promotion LDN Wrestling is bringing the glitz and glamour of the ring back to our resort with a show for all the family.
A brand new line-up of wrestlers for Morecambe is promised including the 27-stone ‘Battling Barbarian’ Karl Krammer, fan favourite Alan Lee Travis and the wrestling pirate Paul Malen.
There is even a wrestler called Richard Parliament who claims to be an MP. Unsurprisingly, he’s a villain!
“It’s live theatre and very much a family show with plenty of audience involvement,” said Sanjay Bagga, LDN promoter.
“Richard Parliament says he happily takes all his expenses and the adults boo. “Then he proclaims that he wants children to go to school seven days a week and it’s their turn to boo. It works on all levels.”
Longtime Morecambe wrestling promoter Greg Lambert will also make a special appearance. But what will ‘The Truth’ have in store for the newcomers from LDN?
Wrestling has been a tradition in Morecambe for over 80 years with thrilling events delighting audiences young and old at venues such as The Dome, the Central Pier, the Winter Gardens and The Carleton.
Some of the all-time greats of the grapple game, including Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Fit Finlay and ‘British Bulldog’ Davey Boy Smith, all appeared in Morecambe at their peak.
Bell time is 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 general admission and £12 concessions with a family ticket costing £45. Call now on 01524 582803 or purchase them on the night.
