Saturday night could be masked grapple star El Ligero’s last ever bout in the resort - should he be defeated.

The high-flying Mexican, a huge favourite with local fans for a decade, takes on bitter rival ‘The Priority’ Chris Ridgeway in a ‘Loser Leaves Morecambe’ match.

Whoever loses Saturday night’s battle at the Winter Gardens, will never be allowed to compete in the resort again.

Ligero is the firm favourite for this grudge match, having defeated Barrow’s Ridgeway in classic tussles at the Winter Gardens in February and April.

But with the added spice of the stipulation, the talented Ridgeway is vowing to raise his game and come out on top.

Ligero first wrestled in Morecambe in 2005, and has since won the British Flyweight Championship on three occasions in the town. One of his biggest rivalries was a series of bouts in 2008 at The Dome against RockStar Spud, now a regular with USA-based TNA Impact Wrestling who recently fought former Olympic Champion Kurt Angle for the World Title on international TV.

Ridgeway only made his debut in Morecambe two years ago but is already being tipped as a star of the future.

Saturday night’s show, billed as ‘All Or Nothing’, will be headlined by a No Holds Barred scrap for the British Heavyweight Title between champion ‘One Man Riot’ Craig Kollins and the popular ‘Heavyweight House of Pain’ Stixx. Doors open at 6pm. VIP tickets are sold out but adult, child and family tickets still available on the door or from www.paidpromotionswrestling.co.uk
