Nobody puts Baby in the corner.
Now fans of Dirty Dancing will be able to relive this, and other famous lines from the hit 1980s film, in a new tribute show coming to the Lancaster Grand.
Fans are invited to take a trip back to the summer of 1963, to remember Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s sizzling performance in the ultimate coming of age romance.
‘A Night of Dirty Dancing – The Ultimate Tribute Show’ includes classic songs She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life, a hit for Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.
The show is not affiliated with Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story On Stage currently on tour in the UK and worldwide. Producer Michael Taylor said: “It’s an all-new production featuring an all-star cast, the next exciting chapter in the amazing musical legacy that is Dirty Dancing.
“The film defines the 1980s. It was the first movie to sell one million videos, it produced a number one single and achieved album sales of 42 million worldwide.”
Michael describes the show as “a fast-moving, slickly-choreographed theatrical treat.”
The show starts at 7.30pm this Sunday (April 26).
Tickets cost £19.50, £18.50. Call 01524 64695 or go to lancastergrand.co.uk, or visit the box office on St Leonardgate during opening hours.
