A soap star and a TV chef will team up at a food festival in Morecambe this weekend.
Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Sugden in Emmerdale, will join forces with Aazam Ahmad, a BBC Fusion Chef of the Year, at the Morecambe Food and Drink Festival.
Isabel’s character, a chef at the iconic Woolpack pub in the ITV soap, is about to be involved in a major storyline where she runs down vicar Ashley Thomas in her car.
She will be at the event on Saturday to judge a children’s cooking competition.
The festival is a two-day event to be held in the Arena on Morecambe Promenade on Saturday and Sunday.
There will be cookery demonstrations on the hour.
Aazam fuses English with Far Eastern styles, the result of which includes one of his signature dishes Swordfish with Mango and Paw Paw.
He has appeared on TV show ‘Grub’s Up’ at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham and helped the Isle of Man tourist board promote their produce.
The festival will be visited by local, national and international food stalls. There will also be a farmers’ market and artisan foods. Weather permitting, there will also be live music from bands including Morecambe group Idol Minds.
The event is hosted by Go Morecambe, a resort-based community interest group, and Lancashire Food Festivals. It runs from 11am to 5pm both days.
