Here’s another great comedy coup for the Lancaster Grand - none other than Ed Byrne.

The Irish comic will perform his touring stand-up show at the theatre on Saturday, November 21 at 8pm.

Tickets go on sale on Friday and are expected to sell quickly for Ed’s first ever comedy gig at the Grand in a show described by the Edinburgh Evening News as “full of top–class observational humour ”.

Ed’s standup career began during his college years at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.

As student welfare officer he was often called on to MC events in the university and soon was being invited to perform at other third-level institutions around Scotland.

It wasn’t long before he’d quit his studies completely and started up a small comedy club in Glasgow.

From there he moved to London, where he started all over again with open spots and short sets on the club circuit, honing his material and developing the curmudgeonly and nerdy persona we’ve all come to know.

During his 20 years in comedy, Ed has enjoyed huge critical and popular success in the UK and Ireland, and become a regular fixture on television and radio. He has appeared on panel shows like Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News for You, and has made several memorable appearances on The Graham Norton Show.

Tickets cost £19 and are available from Friday by calling 01524 64695, or visit {http:\\www.lancastergrand.co.uk|HERE} or the Grand box office.
