SLIDESHOW: Scorton village festival was a scorcher

The Scorton village 'Bikes and Barrows' Festival over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend was a great success undoubtedly helped by the weather.

This is the eighth year of the “Bikes n’Barrows” Festival and each year organisers try to include something new.

This year, being the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, they applied for and were allocated a low level flypast on Sunday by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota aircraft.

Organisers received a number of comments from visitors to the Festival, which included: "Thanks you for one of the most enjoyable days out we have ever spent!”.

Another said “…...it was just like being in the village portrayed in the TV programme ‘Midsommer Murders’ - wonderful!”

All of the proceeds from the festival are for the benefit of the village community including groups, clubs, associations, churches and to fund future village projects as well as assisting other local needy causes.
