FIVE years ago musician Dan Haywood from Lancaster got sick of everything and upped sticks to birdwatch in rural Scotland.

The result of this wildlife pilgrimage was an epic and psychadelic 32-song folk-country rock album on triple vinyl, which is now available for download.

The album has already received rave reviews since its release last month, 24/7 Magazine calling it “defiantly individual...a future cult classic”, Uncut Magazine describing it as “a weird wild-eyed mix of cosmic country and chamber-folk...opaque poetry with a deadpan English drawl that recalls Syd Barrett” and the Independent on Sunday saying “charmingly, it succeeds in being both engaging and oddly uplifting while also being as dour in texture as a North Sea shoreline”.

“Dan Haywood’s New Hawks” can be found on for £9.45 in its full glory.
