Craft and chat sessions in the library

Lancashire libraries are running free weekly Craft and Chat sessions to give people the opportunity to meet with others who share similar creative interests.

The sessions are two-hours long and are normally held from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, with activities include knitting, embroidery and crochet.

They aim to inspire and encourage like-minded people to meet, share their enthusiasm, swap ideas and to have a chance to socialise.

County Councillor Peter Buckley, Lancashire County Council’s cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: “These sessions should make it easy for people to take part in an activity that they enjoy on their doorstep whilst socialising with others who enjoy doing the same activities.

“Being able to talk to others is so important for our health and wellbeing, and these sessions are an important opportunity to do this in a relaxed and informal way.

“They are free to attend, to make them as easy and accessible as possible, so that as many people as possible are encouraged to take part and enjoy their creative hobby.”

Additional one-off themed creative sessions are also held in Lancashire libraries.
