Best Indian music tops bill

The UK’s national ensemble for Indian music is part of a varied line up of live concertgoodness in Morecambe’s West End.

Tarang will perform at More Music’s Devonshire Road venue The Hothouse on Saturday, February 7, supported by the Long Walk Chinese Orchestra.

The concert starts at 8pm. Tickets £10 (£7 concessions) in advance or £12 (£9 concessions) on the night.

You can also take part in a creative music workshop with Tarang on Sunday, February 8.

More Music, the Morecambe community music and arts organisation, has announced Tarang as part of its live music programme for the early part of 2015. It also includes The Hothouse Ceilidh with the Wierdstring Band on Saturday, January 31 at 7.30pm. The Wierdstring Band are three men, 14 strings and a whole lot of weirdness, playing traditional and modern tunes, with dances from the depths of history. Tickets cost £7 (£5 concessions) in advance and £8 (£6 concessions) on the night. On Saturday, February 28 at 8pm, Troyka, a trio of London musicians, will perform a mash-up of rock, jazz and dance music. Support comes from Yesa Sikyi. Tickets £10 (£7 concessions) or £12 (£8 concessions) in advance.

Psychedelia-tinged electric five-piece This Is The Kit will play live on Saturday, March 7 at 8pm. Tickets £10 (£7 concessions) in advance, 12 (£9 concessions) on the night.
