ANOTHER young Morecambe band is ready to conquer the indie music scene with a striking debut single.

The Art Club will release Let’s Start Again in September following a launch gig at the Yorkshire House in Lancaster on Saturday, August 25.

The talented quartet, made up of David Murdoch, Callum Crombie, Harry Ghorst and Lydia Greenwood, exudes cool nostalgia.

Front man Murdoch’s movie star looks and vocal gymnastics mark him out, in particular, for potential greatness.

Wild West gunfights and ‘60s shimmering frocks abound in the jaw-dropping music video for Let’s Start Again, edited by Ryan Edmondson.

This swooning track is a romantic, cinematic delight with shades of Joy Division and Jesus and Mary Chain.

With The Heartbreaks, Idol Minds and other local bands all enjoying success, The Art Club is a worthy addition as Morecambe continues to take on the music world.

Support at the Yorkshire House gig comes from Manchester indie-poppers Scuttlers and new Lancaster low-fi band Two For Joy. It starts at 8pm.
