A Sparkling Evening with Ann Widdecombe promises to be just that – an event full of dynamic words, opinions and anecdotes from a lady who is a tour de force of nature.

The former Conservative party politician and Government minister, whose comical efforts on Strictly Come Dancing brought her to a whole new audience, brings her one-woman show to the Lancaster Grand on Wednesday December 10.

Ann, 67, is also a highly regarded novelist, an active campaigner for animal rights and has had many notable TV and stage appearances including presenting Have I Got News For You and her interview with Piers Morgan on Life Stories.

From 1987 to 2010 she was the Member of Parliament for Maidstone which became Maidstone and The Weald in 1997.

In November 1990 she was appointed Under Secretary of State for Social Security in John Major’s first administration where she specialised in pensions, and later
becamMinister of State
Home Office 1995 with responsibility for prisons and immigration.

But it’s her feathered and sequined routines with Anton du Beke on the smash hit BBC1 Saturday night show that she’s most loved for!

During this evening full of repartee, Ann will let the audience into the stories from her amazing life and after the interval there will be a chance to ask Ann questions direct (if you dare!) and get a personal book signing too.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available by calling 01524 64695 or from www.lancastergrand.co.uk or visit the box office on St Leonardgate during opening hours.
