Villagers will mark the 25th birthday of Heysham Heritage Association on April 1.

A cheese and wine event will be held at Heysham Heritage Centre on Main Street between 3pm and 5pm, and between 7pm and 8pm.

Heysham Heritage Association was set up in 1990 after a group of residents came together to fight against development of coastal fields to the north of the village.

Since that time the group has helped the National Trust take over Heysham Head and the Cliffs, and helped open the Heysham Heritage Centre in 2000.
