Meanwhile, the number of positive Covid-19 cases being reported at Lancaster University has dropped dramatically in recent weeks.

At one point in October, around 1,000 students were self-isolating after more than 100 cases of coronavirus were confirmed on the Bailrigg campus in a week.

However, during the week leading up to November 16, no students living on campus reported a positive case, while five living off campus tested positive, along with five members of staff.
