Whether you are looking to upskill in your current role, or change career completely, Apprenticeships provide the skills and qualifications you need to succeed, regardless of your age or experience.

We have seen an increase in the number of adults accessing apprenticeships, with employers recognising the significant benefits of on-going, work-based learning for their workforce. With Higher Apprenticeships offering degree level qualifications, you can gain additional skills and knowledge whilst employed full-time.

Arwen Davies (30), a Psychology graduate living in Morecambe, chose the Apprenticeship route when she struggled to find employment and now works in the HR department at University of Cumbria. “An Apprenticeship seemed the best way I would gain the skills I needed to secure employment in my chosen sector. Having the security of a fixed contract was reassuring and gave me chance to develop professional communication skills as well as self-confidence.”

Apprenticeships are also a way to develop skills within your current role. Daniel Thackray (23) has progressed in his career as a team leader in Adult Social Care achieving a Distinction on his L3 Apprenticeship. “You can tailor your Apprenticeship to support your current role, and to prepare you for later challenges and opportunities. I was able to pick units that were specific to my job role, including a management module, which is what I’m aiming towards in my career.”

Lancaster & Morecambe College offer a range of apprenticeships and have vacancies available now. For more information, contact our team on 01524 521483 or https://www.lmc.ac.uk/appvacancies
