Lancaster jeweller makes unique pieces to support cancer charity
Earlier this year Rachel Hearne, who runs the Creative Metals classes at CancerCare, launched her LoveLinks community art project which saw dozens of the charity’s clients and supporters create their very own silver links which were then combined to create one unique, one-of-a-kind chain 15 feet in length.
The piece was put on display in Arteria Gallery in Lancaster and she had planned to take it on tour to different galleries around the region, however this was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rachel has now broken down the link into smaller bracelets and necklaces and they are up for auction with all proceeds going to CancerCare, which provides free professional therapy for people affected by cancer or bereavement
Each piece of jewellery is fully hallmarked, made of 100 per cent recycled sterling silver and will be specially gift packaged with the story of the people who created it.
Each link is also identified so those involved in the project are able to bid for the piece containing the link they created.

All the pieces are available to view on Rachel’s website here, along with instructions on how to make a bid. The deadline for bids is 10pm on Sunday December 20.
