Following on from the huge success of Lancaster BID's Festa Italia over the last two years, it had planned to showcase all things 'favuloso' once again in September.

However, due to the current situation and the government guideline the BID has made the sad decision to cancel Festa Italia for 2020.

Events and marketing coordinator for BID, Victoria Muir, said: “Having had such great Festas previously we did not want put anything on this year that was not of the same standards and this event attracted such a large crowd that we didn’t want to put anyone’s safety at risk, so whilst this is very disappointing we feel it is for the best.

"It just means we will have to come back even bigger and better for our Festa Italia 2021.

"This is an event that we have loved doing and has become a favourite in our schedule so we will definitely be looking to bring it back next year and celebrating another day of all things Italian in Lancaster.

"In the meantime we will share some of our favourite memories of our previous Festas and look forward to what next year will bring."
