Can you find the Lost Dinosaurs of Lancaster?

Lancaster BID is asking for your help to seek out the Lost Dinosaurs which have hidden themselves in businesses throughout the city centre. Can you find them all?

Inspired by the legacy of Sir Richard Owen, who grew up in the city and invented the word ‘dinosaur’, Lancaster BID’s annual Dino Day has been a popular feature on the city centre calendar for several years.

With social distancing measures making it impossible to welcome the usual animatronic giants this year, Lancaster BID was determined to find a safe way to bring back the dinosaurs and encourage families safely back into the city centre.

Last weekend saw the arrival of a new temporary addition to the Lancaster skyline. Next time you’re in the city centre be sure to look out for the giant T-Rex looking down at you from the roof of St Nic’s Arcades.

His smaller friends are scattered around businesses in the city centre waiting to be found by eagle eyed families.

Pick up a trail form in town or download one here to help you find them all.

Once you’ve found them you can enter the prize draw by the end of August to win a giant cuddly T-Rex and a whole collection of smaller friends.

Lancaster BID manager Tony Johnson said: "With most city centre businesses now reopen it is important that we encourage customers to venture safely back to support their local city centre.

"By extending activities throughout August we are ensuring that families can enjoy the dinosaurs whilst sticking to the necessary social distancing measures."

Lancaster BID is particularly grateful for the support of EDF Energy for their sponsorship which has helped to make this event possible.
