King Street Arts (formerly King Street Studios) has brought together artists from the local district, county and further afield to show and sell their good quality, original work from December 8-16.

Many of the artists have exhibited with them over the past five years.

“King Street Arts seeks to support artists and the public by creating exhibitions and workshops which encourage engagement, sometimes stretch boundaries and certainly look for new horizons,” said Roy Smith who runs King Street Arts with Kath McDonald.

Roy and Kath have previously hosted this annual art fair at their premises in King Street but the gallery at The Storey provides more scope to display the wealth of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, original printworks, cards and prints priced £2-£250. “There is no theme to the exhibition so each artist is showing work that connects with their own interests and artistic practice,” said Kath.

“We are hoping to cover walls and tables with affordable art for the Christmas season.”

For those inspired by the affordable art fair to get creative themselves, two workshops take place in the gallery.
