There are 13 theatrical productions taking place including adaptations of The Tempest, Macbeth, Henry V, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

There’s also an evening of Showstopping Shakespeare. A celebration of the songs from the shows based on the Bard’s works; a Shakespearean murder mystery at Morecambe Library, wine tasting, comedy dinner theatre at the iconic Midland Hotel and a Shakespeare slam which will bring the sonnets of Shakespeare up-to-date in the hands of award winning poets.

Theatre is not the only entertainment to enjoy over the weekend as puppet shows, author events, orchestral Shakespeare, workshops and even a midnight matinee of ‘Theatre of Blood’ at the historic Winter Garden’s Theatre will be on offer to wet your appetite and discover just how diverse the works of The Bard really are.

If all that is not enough to tempt you, the historical and artisan market will be open throughout the festival at The Platform, with birds of prey, a hog roast and a variety of stalls.
