Morecambe Amateur Operatic Dramatic Society (MAODS) urgently needs more male actors for the musical, Summer Holiday, which is being staged next June. The show, which will run at the Lancaster Grand Theatre, will take place between June 27 and July 1.

The musical is adapted from the 1963 film version staring Sir Cliff Richard, Laurie Peters, Una Stubbs and The Shadows.

Don and his friends work as bus mechanics for London Transport and the story unfolds when Don persuades London Transport to lend him and his friends a double decker bus which they convert into a holiday caravan and drive across Europe.

They are joined along the way by a group of young women and a runaway singer and their adventures begin.

Many of the songs in the show are well known including ‘Summer Holiday,’ ‘Bachelor Boy’ and ‘Next Time.’

MAODS is looking to cast the boys who make up ‘The Young Ones’- Edwin, Cyril, Steve and Don as well as men of all ages.
