The Visitor is proud to announce the winner in our competition to find a new Morecambe FC pie.

After whittling down your suggestions to a final three, a poll at www.thevisitor.co.uk has revealed Lamb and Mint as the newest addition to head chef Graham Aimson’s range.

It received 53 per cent of the vote, with All Day Breakfast in second with 40 per cent while Gammon Bake got just seven per cent.

Graham, who has won several national awards for his crusty creations, was delighted with how the competition had gone.

He said: “It’s been tremendous.

“A lot of people have got involved with Lamb and Mint always the clear winner.

“Everywhere I’ve been people have come up to me to tell me that’s the one they’ve wanted.”

The Shrimps fans got the chance to taste our finalists following Easter Monday’s game with Wycombe at the Globe Arena with Graham saying they club struggled to cope with demand.

The winning suggestion came from Shrimps fan Paul Carter who follows the club up and down the country and is a keen connoisseur of Graham and his team’s work.

He said: “I am delighted that the Lamb and Mint has been chosen.

“I can not wait to try it, as they had all gone by the time I got up stairs for the tasting!

“Hopefully local lamb will be sourced thus helping the local farmers.”

The new Lamb and Mint pie will be on sale at the final Shrimps home game of the season against Torquay on April 20.
