Teenage singing sensations raised money for good causes at a regional talent show held at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre.

Cara Hughes from Morecambe, just 14 years old, won £100 for Stanley’s Youth and Community Centre in the West End at the Furness Charity Challenge Final.

Cara’s version of Eva Cassidy hit ‘Songbird’ was accompanied on guitar by youth leader Lauren Lindsey.

Danielle Holmes, 18, from Kellet Road, Carnforth, collected £100 for the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

Danielle, a Lancaster and Morecambe College student, delivered a show-stopping version of ‘Hero’ which she dedicated to all the heroes battling cancer.

The overall winner was 18-year-old Ribbleton student Rebecca Duckworth, who sang ‘Part of Your World’ from Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’.
