A cast of over 40 students from Heysham High School gave three superb performances of the musical Back to the 80’s.

The musical written by Neil Gooding included hits from the 80’s such as Material Girl, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Dancing on the Ceiling and many more.

The musical staring Kyle English as Cory Palmer Jr and Chloe Hargreaves as Tiffany Houston featured the full 11 to 18 year age range of the school and was performed to over 450 students, parents, Governors and staff over three nights.

The students performed on a Rubik’s Cube set and were accompanied by a professional live band.

Chris Larder, lead music teacher, said: “The students have been rehearsing for six hours a week since September, including an eight hour Sunday rehearsal and a matinee performance to local primary schools.

“The performances were simply fantastic and everyone that came to see the show or was involved in the production was immensely proud of these very talented students.”
