TALENTED musicians of both youth and experience will headline Morecambe’s BluesWater festival this weekend.

The headline acts this Sunday (June 26) on The Platform’s outdoor stage are international star from Texas, Eugene “Hideaway” Bridges and 14-year-old prodigy from Derbyshire, Alex McKown.

Eugene Bridges has visited Morecambe to perform before and is a distant relative of Tina Turner.

His live performances have received rave reviews and he is a former winner of UK’s Blueprint magazine’s vocalist of the year.

Eugene’s 2003 album, Jump the Joint, reached number four in the US Living Blues Charts and he was nominated for three 2003 US Cammy Music Awards.

His album Live in San Antonio has been nominated for a 2011 Blues Music Award in the Soul Blues album category and Eugene has also been nominated for Soul Blues Artist.
