The Grammy winning songwriter chatted to The Visitor ahead of his Restless Years tour which comes to the Lancaster Grand Theatre on Monday September 14.

Leo, who lives in Australia, started his career in 1972.

During the 70s Leo met a string of famous people thanks to his manager Adam Faith and even remembers our famous duo Morecambe and Wise.

Leo, who has had hits with You Make Me Feel Like Dancing and Thunder In My Heart, said: “Eric and Ernie always used to come into the studio, cracking jokes. I did their show a few times and they were so much fun and respectful to everyone.

“I remember the Summer Breeze Festival in Morecambe, it pelted it down but everybody enjoyed it.”

Leo also met Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney who gave him strong advice which lasted through his 43-year career.

“I spent all my time trying to ask Paul what it’s like and he said to me ‘I am not telling you have to learn yourself,’ but he said ‘don’t cut your hair’ and I never did.” Tickets are £25 and are available from 01524 64695 or at http://www.lancastergrand.co.uk/shows.
