Morecambe Community High students will swap the classroom for the stage and paintbrush this week.

Two! By Jim Cartwright will be performed at the school, on Dallam Avenue, on Monday June 29 from 7pm.

The creativity will continue when their annual art exhibition on Wednesday June 24 from 3pm-6pm.

Students have been creative and innovative with both the materials they have used to create their art work as well as the size and scale of both their paintings and their sculptures.

Art work from Years 11, 12 and 13 is on display in the art department as well as around the school. This year students have completed courses in Fine Art, Ceramics and BTEC Level Three Certificate in Art and Design.

In addition to traditional drawing and painting, students have been making sculptures from willow, clay and recycled materials.

The quality of the work was enhanced by display in the new art studio, a large exhibition space for the Sixth Form students.

The Art Exhibition will be held in the Dallam Block at Morecambe Community High School. All are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
