See the dance stars of the future this month when they appear in the 2016 Lancashire Youth Dance Festival at The Dukes.

Dancers from across the North West will take to the stage on April 22 and 23 for this annual showcase presented by Lancaster’s Ludus Dance and The Dukes to shine a spotlight on emerging dance talent in the region.

Almost 200 young people, hailing from towns and cities across the North West, including Lancaster, Preston, Blackpool, Lytham, Chester, Formby, Warrington, Oldham, Salford, Manchester, Burnley, Kendal and Milnthorpe, will attend the popular event, as 16 dance groups converge to take part.

They will perform a wide range of dance styles from contemporary and physical theatre to breakdance and hip-hop. Competition to earn a prestigious place on the bill was strong, as the Festival gives young people not only the chance to perform their work on a professional stage, but also provides skill-building workshops and new creative experiences.

Each day of the Festival will culminate in evening performances that are as innovative and varied as they are exciting.

Tickets for the two 7.30pm showcase performances are priced £6 for adults and £4 concessions.
