ONE of Morecambe’s great eccentrics will regale coffee lovers in London this weekend.

Anthony Padgett will read from his new book of short stories Tales From The Old Coffee House at the capital’s Coffee Festival this Saturday and Sunday (April 9 and 10).

The book was inspired by Anthony’s regular visits to the J. Atkinson & Co Old Coffee House on China Street, Lancaster.

The book contains 23 tales from 23 regions of coffee production and each story is designed to be read in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee.

Padgett’s other books include Murder At The Midland Hotel - a murder mystery set in Morecambe’s famous art deco hotel.

Anthony is known for his unusual and wide-ranging skills across the whole spectrum of arts and entertainment.
