Fun and giggles with David Walliams’ debut picture book

Here’s an elephantastic idea for young readers this Christmas.

TV comedian David Walliams’ debut picture book, The Slightly Annoying Elephant, has just been published in a special iPad edition.

And in a first for iBooks, young readers can add their names and photos to the story – a surefire way to engage children in reading.

The ebook offers animation, interaction, sounds and play-based learning activities. From An Elephant Never Forgets matching pairs game to the genius Jumbo Workout, where readers can make the elephant strut his stuff to the accompaniment of flashing disco lights and dance music, fun and giggles are guaranteed.

David Walliams’ brilliantly-imagined silly voices and Tony Ross’ illustrated characters and scenes work well as iBook animations. The collaboration of these two talents in yet another format brings this picture book to life in a whole new way.

Priced just £3.99, this would definitely have been high up on my daughter’s Christmas present list when she was younger.
