Happy new year to all book lovers.

As the dust settles on another festive season, I’d like to make an appeal.

If you’re a regular reader of The Visitor and Lancaster Guardian newspapers,
you’ll be aware of our Save Our Hospice campaign which we launched on Bonfire Night.

St John’s in Lancaster is facing a daunting half
million pounds cash shortage and our campaign needs to raise that sum and secure its future for generations to come.

With that in mind, I’m hoping to boost the campaign coffers with a secondhand book sale to be held in Morecambe shortly.

And this is where I need your help.

Do you have piles of old books gathering dust at home?

If you do and they’re
not too precious to part
with, then send them my way.

Bring them into The Visitor office in Victoria Street, Morecambe, and I’ll sell them on at my Book Club sale – date and venue to be confirmed shortly.

Of course, you can also come along on the day and buy some reading matter with all proceeds going
to the Save Our Hospice campaign.

Obviously the more books you donate the more cash we raise so please take a few minutes and have a look if there’s anything you can part with to help this worthy cause.

Many thanks.
