IT'S been a rollercoaster of a ride over the last week for everyone involved in the rebirth of Morecambe's Midland Hotel.
Midland hits our TV screensWith scores of workmen adding the final touches to the stunning Art Deco building, developer Urban Splash held a VIP opening, entertained BBC film crews and finally opened the hotel to the general public on Sunday.
Take a look inside the Midland Hotel, MorecambeThe hotel is now looking jaw-droppingly gorgeous and is open for anyone to hire rooms, enjoy a meal, sample spa treatments, pop in for coffee or enjoy drinks as the sun sets over Morecambe Bay.
On Sunday thousands of people visited the hotel for the first time (see pages 8 and 9) and tradespeople are still adding a few finishing touches.
First impressions of new MidlandThe exterior of the building, which had been in a parlous state due to years of neglect, is now looking pristine and back to its '30s splendour.
The bespoke, weather-proof render, glitters in the sun and its graceful curves reek of glamour.

Designer tells Midland to get its act togetherThe masses visiting the hotel on Sunday appeared delighted with the funky designer furniture, stunning fixtures and fittings and the workmanship in general.

VIP guests enjoyed a first taste of the high life inside the new Midland last Tuesday evening.
They gathered in the sun lounge and bar area for a preview of the revamped art deco hotel as cameras from the BBC filmed for a special edition of The Culture Show.
We'll get it right – promise Midland bossesGuests included VIPs from Urban Splash, Lancaster City Council and other local organisations, ex-Midland staff, Friends of the Midland and comedian Jim Bowen, who lives at Melling near Lancaster.
They enjoyed a special performance by the BBC Big Band in the hotel foyer which was recorded for TV and Radio 2, including songs from fabulous rising jazz star Beth Rowley.
The Midland Hotel edition of The Culture Show is expected to be broadcast on June 17 at 10pm.
