As we start a new year, ADAM LORD looks at the up-and-coming sports stars who could have a big 2013.

One of the latest products of the Vale of Lune youth system is looking to further establish himself in 2013.

Harry Fellows, a 19-year-old second row, has impressed since breaking in to the first team at Powderhouse Lane in the game against Aspatria in April.

“I was captain of the junior and senior Colts when I was 17 and 18,” said the 6ft6 forward who lives in Wray.

“The first team was the next step up and it’s just good to play with the senior guys, I’m really enjoying it.”

The former Queen Elizabeth School Kirkby Lonsdale pupil has made 12 appearances in the pack this year as he looks to help Vale compete at the sharp end of North One West, as they have done this season.

“It’s been good playing with all the experienced players around me,” said Fellows, who started out in the club’s under 10 side.

“In 2013 I’m just hoping to keep on playing and keep my starting place in the Vale first team.

“I’m on a year out before university, I’ll go in September, so I want to establish myself in the side.”

Fellows is part of an exciting current crop of youngsters at the Vale that also includes Jordan Dorrington and Sam Moorby that have helped the side be in the promotion hunt this season.
