Two good days for Chisnall in Coventry

Dave Chisnall enjoyed a good run at the latest two Players Championship events in Coventry at the weekend.

The Morecambe darts ace first reached the semi-finals at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday before being eliminated in the last eight on Sunday.

Chisnall, a European Tour runner-up the previous two weekends, lost 6-4 to Jamie Caven in his last four contest.

The Premier League star had earlier beaten Steve Hine, James Wilson, Stuart Kellett, John Bowles and Mark Webster on Saturday.

Sunday’s run was ended by Joe Cullen in the quarter-finals as the losing finalist prevailed 6-4.

It was another strong day of darts from the resort thrower though as he picked up wins over Ronnie Baxter, Mark Barilli, Max Hopp and Caven.

Gerwyn Price won his second consecutive Players Championship title on Saturday, averaging over 108 against Caven as he triumphed 6-1.

Sunday’s event went to Benito van de Pas who produced a brilliant display in the final with a 6-0 demolition of Cullen.

Chisnall next heads to the two-day Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters which starts this Thursday, May 26.
