Senior is likely to play in seven or eight top tier events this year after his breakthrough Challenge Tour win at the Scottish Hydro Challenge in June 2015.

The 27-year-old knows success in those or a top-15 on the Challenge Tour will see him secure a European Tour card.

At the Trophée Hassan II, Jeunghun Wang sealed a maiden victory by holing three remarkable putts on the 18th green to sink Nacho Elvira in a play-off.

Scoring was tough with Senior four shots off the lead going into the weekend on two under par only for his challenge to fade at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat on Saturday and Sunday.

He is next in action at the Challenge Tour’s Montecchia Open in Padova, Italy, which starts on Thursday.

Elsewhere Heysham hosted the opening Daily Telegraph Northern Counties League match on Saturday as Lancashire had to pull out all the stops to beat Durham.

The Red Rose lost the foursomes 4-2 and despite storming back by winning the top four singles the issue was in the balance until Reece Cranfield, on his debut, dispatched Andrew McCarrick 3&2 in the final tie to secure a 10-8
victory.

All three fixtures finished 10-8, Cheshire overcoming Northumberland at Close House and defending champions Yorkshire battling back from a 4-2 foursomes deficit to beat Cumbria at Eden.
