Pearson helps get seconds over the line

After winning the toss the visitors posted 148-8 batting first.

Izhar Ullah was the pick of the bowlers with a miserly 2-16 from his 12 overs, including five maidens.

Sean Graves, 2-24, and George Oyston, 2-20, also picked up two wickets each.

Darren Nightingale top scored for Kendal with 57 before being caught by Ullah off the bowling of Oyston.

In reply, Luke Pearson’s 49 at the top of the order set Morecambe on their way to victory.

Ullah provided good support with 31 while Michael Fisher finished unbeaten on 22 as the hosts finished on 149-5.

Bottom of the table Lancaster went down to a four-wicket defeat against Preston at West Cliff.

The visitors were bowled out for 101 batting first, Haris Pervaiz’s 41 the only score of note for the Lune Road men as Heszer Mahmood took 4-20.

In reply, Babasish Nanda’s 50 opening the batting all but won the game for Preston as they finished on 102-6.

Ramon Shah took 2-30 for Lancaster but it was their batting that ultimately cost them.
