Winning the toss Matt Jackson asked Fylde to bat and was rewarded for the decision in the second over as Lee trapped Johnson (0) in front LBW.

Maidens for Jackson (0-20) were followed by wicket maidens for Lee (6-21), first opener MacClaren (5) was bowled then Calvert (8) caught by Gibbins.

Young Pollard (8) and Sykes (8) used up 100 balls but even after this brief resistance Lee cleaned the youngster up and had Sykes well caught by Parry.

Smith (8) followed the pattern and was caught by Cookson again off Lee to leave Fylde on 41-6 from 20 overs and all the wickets falling to Lee.

A change of bowling saw Jack Heap (2-8) straight in the wickets himself after two balls having Khan (0) caught by Woods. Woods was in the action again combining with Hansson to run out Habblethwaite (2). Fylde’s skipper Ellison (13) briefly stopped the rot, but James Cookson (1-4) had the skipper caught by Errington.

It was left to Heap to finish the innings off in the next over, bowling Camm (0) to see Fylde all out for 57 in 32.3 overs.

Torrisholme’s reply started with Butler (9) being caught behind and Errington (3) bowled after leaving one that nipped back.

The experience of Parry (32no) shone through as with Woods (5) bowled by Ellison (2-24) it could have been a painful chase, but with Cookson (4no) Parry saw Torrisholme home in style in the 11th over, crashing the ball to the boundary, Camm the unfortunate bowler going for 13 runs in his first and last over.

It was a professional performance with Torrisholme taking maximum points and their first win of the Premier Division campaign, a victory that sees them in the mid-table position.
