Garstang too good for Torrisholme

High-flying Garstang proved too good for Torrisholme in the Palace Shield Premier Division on Saturday - winning by 29 runs at Boundary Meadow.

The visitors were bowled out for 112 batting first, captain Mark Walling top scoring with 32.

Matthew Liver finished on 21 not out with Tom Wells making 20 with the rest of the Garstang batsmen struggling.

Graham Lee, 4-29, and Jeff Stobbart, 4-40, starred for the ball with Torrisholme with Daniel Woods also taking 2-25.

The hosts’ reply never got going, with only captain Matt Jackson, 18, and James Cookson, 11, reaching double figures as they were skittled out for 83.

Ian Walling took 3-22 and Ryan Wells 3-17 while Michael Walling and Andy Booker also took two wickets.

Torrisholme next travel to Thornton Cleveleys on Saturday.
