Morecambe have signed winger Jamie Devitt on a one-month loan from League 2 rivals Chesterfield.
The former Hull City youngster only signed a contract extension until the end of the season at the Proact Stadium last week but has moved down the pecking order in recent weeks.
Devitt, a former Republic of Ireland under 21 international, can play wide or in the number 10 position and fills the space left in the squad following Joe Mwasile’s loan move to Altrincham on Monday.
He will officially put pen to paper later in the week.
The 23-year-old Dubliner enjoyed loan spells at Shrewsbury Town, Grimsby Town, Bradford City, Accrington Stanley and Rotherham United before joining the Spireites in the summer after a spell on trial.
He came on as a late substitute at the Globe Arena in the Shrimps’ remarkable 4-3 victory over Chesterfield back in October.
