Vale president, Norman Hailes presented the prizes and thanked the Morecambe Club for the support and local building contractor Mark Joyce for sponsoring the event.

Mr Hailes also thanked Michael Huntington and Rob Kavanagh for organising the day and said the event typified the good sporting spirit between the two clubs.

All those taking part received an invitation to a Vale game and the winning team won an invitation to dine with Mr Hailes before a home match.

Among the other prizes were rounds of golf at Preston Golf Club, Heysham Golf Club, Lancaster Golf Club and the Worsley Marrriot Park Club.

All the money raised has gone into the Vale of Lune’s redevelopment fund.
