Dave Chisnall suffered two third round exits at the latest Players Championship events in Crawley at the weekend.

The Morecambe ace lost 6-5 to Stephen Bunting on Saturday before going out 6-1 to Jamie Caven 24 hours later.

James Wade won Saturday’s event with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Kim Huybrechts in the final of the 17th round of the competition but was denied a memorable Pro Tour double as he lost out 6-2 to Michael van Gerwen in Sunday’s final.

Next up for Chisnall is the European Championship in Muelheim, Germany, starting this Friday, October 24.

The Morecambe ace takes on Germany’s Jyhan Artut in round one of Friday afternoon. The event, which runs until Sunday, is live on ITV4.

The draw has also been made for the following week’s Unibet Masters in Edinburgh with Chisnall taking on home favourite Robert Thornton in the opening round on Saturday, November 1.

The second staging of the £160,000 tournament will see the world’s top 16 players do battle across two days.
