A busy week in the Lancaster and Morecambe Table Tennis League Championship has resulted in Barbarians strengthening their grip on the top position.

Clare Towers, Graham White and Ken Riley dominated their match with St Lukes D, Nathan Beamer spoiling the 100 per cent match record in the second set of the match which ended 28-12 to the league leaders.

The Barba’s next took on a stronger challenge from Morecambe CHS with Matty Cooke, James Rawlinson and Aiden Branch pushing Clare Towers, Mike and Graham White all the way to a narrow 22-20 win.

Morecambe moved up the table following their 23-11 win away to University Vipers.

Abinhav Sinha won man of the match with a 100 per cent record and was well supported by Adam Ordonez and Hudson Nuttall.

The same Morecambe trio had a set back on their first visit to newcomers 3-1-5 TT.

Barry Dobson, Ian Gee and Dave Gott combined well to pull off a fine 19-14 victory for the home team.
