MORECAMBE produced another excellent performance to defeat Lancashire Colts at Woodhill Lane by seven wickets.
A superb all round performance from Chris Williams sealed Morecambe’s 10th win of the season.
Williams, who took 6-63, bowled well throughout to restrict the Colts to 188-9.
The Colts were in debt to gritty innings from Martin (60) and Taylor (66) who batted sensibly throughout.
Earlier Ali (2-49) and Williams had reduced them to 34-3, with an athletic one-handed catch by Smith being the pick of the dismissals.
The pair shared a stand of 122 for the fourth wicket before Martin eventually surrendered trying to increase momentum.
Morecambe toiled hard on a pitch that offered little for the bowlers, however Gates and Clough bowled economically throughout the middle overs.
This created a platform for the returning Williams to take a flurry of wickets courtesy of further good catches from Woodhead, Ullah and Law, which helped restrict the Colts to a below par score on an ever-improving pitch.
