MORECAMBE Cricket Club have announced several changes ahead of the new season.

Lewis Edge is the new first team captain, replacing Mark Woodhead, and South African Imraan Khan is the club’s new professional, taking over from Pakistani fast bowler Anwar Ali.

Khan, a left-handed top-order batsman and off-spin bowler, is captain of his provincial side The Dolphins.

The 27-year-old has played one test match for South Africa, opening the batting with former Morecambe professional Ashwell Prince against Australia in Cape Town in March 2009

.

He also led South Africa’s Under-19 team on their tour of England in 2003.
