The wheels are well and truly in motion on the promising karting career of a Morecambe youngster.
Thomas Neill. 14. has picked up a large haul of trophies in his first full season as a junior racer.
Supported by dad Mal, who runs The Berkeley Guesthouse in the resort, Thomas has won 11 first place trophies and two runners-up trophies.
Having only started karting at an indoor track in Barrow in 2013, the fine year saw him win the championship at the Cheshire Kart Racing Club in Hooton and come third in the Manchester and Buxton Kart Club series at the Three Sisters track near Wigan.
Thomas races an IAME Junior X30 engine on a Gillard chassis, bought with sponsorship help from Tony Dickinson of DK Warehouse, a former national karting champion himself.
He is hoping to race further afield next season and enter national and international races up and down the country.
