Five juniors from City of Lancaster Triathlon Club competed in the National Biathle Championships at Salford Quays last weekend.

The event was the qualifier for the World Championships in Batumi, Georgia, and the European championships in Turkey in October.

No stranger to Biathle, 17-year-old Georgia Hannam, competing in the bottom end of the youth A age group running alongside the junior females, led the race from the start to take the title of British Biathle Champion.

In the youth E age group competing for the first time at a national competition were Jack Collett, Anan Tiger Clarke and Kirsty Maher.

All three put in great performances with Jack finishing 12th, Anan 13th and Kirsty sixth.

In the youth D boys Tim Woodman came a respectable 14th place in one of the hardest Biathle races of the season.

Georgia and Kirsty both qualified for the World and European Championships.

Georgia, along with younger brother Shea, who received automatic qualification due to being unable to compete, will now travel with the GB team to Batumi next month.
