Morecambe Cricket Club have announced their captains for the 2015 season.
Opening batsman Josh Dixon will take over leading the first team from veteran Tommy Clough.
Dixon joined the Woodhill Lane club in 2011 and acted as Clough’s deputy last year in what was a frustrating Northern League campaign.
The former Heysham captain said: “I’m really, really looking forward to it.
“It will obviously be a challenge but it’s my home town club so it’s one I’ll relish.
“I enjoyed getting a taste of it last year even if the last four games were challenging.
“But with improved commitment and a few signings I’m hoping we can turn things around.”
Clough will stay on as a player and club chairman having split his time between several jobs last season.
Phil Dennison will continue with to lead the second team and has been tasked with helping produce future first-team players, captaining a side that mixes experience with some of the district’s promising young cricketers.
Third team skipper Miles Manley will hope to build on a season that saw his side win promotion in the Westmorland League and win the League Cup.
