Dave Chisnall faces 2011 champion Gary Anderson as the Betway Premier League Darts moves onto Newcastle on Thursday night.
The Morecambe ace can’t make the play-offs at the O2 Arena later this month after defeats to Robert Thorton and Phil Taylor in Birmingham last time out but will hope to finish on a high with two weeks of competition remaining.
Anderson has play-off aspirations of his own and goes into the game in fine form after victory over world champion Michael van Gerwen last time out.
He said: “Chizzy’s been brilliant this season.
“He’s been so unlucky to get the losses he has had with the way he’s played, but it’s very competitive this year and the Premier League’s full of great players.”
Elsewhere, Phil Taylor could secure his place in the top four when he takes on Peter Wright at the Metro Radio Arena, the league’s joint leaders van Gerwen and Dutch rival Raymond van Barneveld meet and Robert Thornton takes on Adrian Lewis in a battle of two players who can’t make the play-offs.
Thursday’s Betway Premier League Darts will be shown live on Sky Sports 2HD from 7pm.
